The City of Marshall, Minnesota, will receive bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street in Marshall, Minnesota, until 10:00a.m. on April 20, 2017, for the following project in Marshall, Minnesota:

Project Z47: Commerce Industrial Park/Michigan Road Improvement Project -- This project includes subdivision grading, the installation of sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer improvements and street improvements on Michigan Road from a point approximately 650 west of Lake Road to 240th Street (Pacific Avenue), and the construction of a storm sewer and watermain along Minnesota Trunk Highway 68 from Lake Road to 240th Street (Pacific Avenue).

Approximate quantities of major work items are as follows:

· Miscellaneous removals
· Site grading
· 13,700 sq yd bituminous pavement (common excavation, 14” class 5 agg. base, 4” PVC perforated underdrains, B618 curb & gutter, 3” bituminous base course, 3” bituminous wearing course
· 1,500 sq yd concrete driveway aprons and sidewalk
· 5,100 lin ft 15” – 30”diameter storm sewer, with catch basins, manholes and casting assemblies
· 3,400 lin ft 8” - 12” diameter sanitary sewer, with manholes and services
· 5,900 lin ft 6” – 16” diameter watermain, with valves, hydrants and services
· Turf establishment and temporary erosion control

The engineer’s estimate is $5.9 million.

Immediately following expiration of the time for receiving bids, the City Clerk and Director of Public Works/City Engineer or their designee will publicly open bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street.

All bidders are required to become acquainted with the extent of the work and the conditions under which the work will be performed.

All bids shall be made on the printed proposal forms of the City incorporated in the Project Manual and shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check, payable to the order of the City for not less than 10% of the bid.

Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper with a brief statement for the summary as to the work for which the bid is made.

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of any bid, to waive minor defects, technicalities, or any informalities in the bidding or to advertise for new proposals, and to accept that bid deemed to be in the City’s best interest.

The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the City Council at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in the Professional Development Room at the Marshall Middle School, 401 South Saratoga Street.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 90 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.
